Music means a lot to me. The whole package - and not just of the song, but of the medium. Long ago I began espousing the 10% rule of music: that every genre has 10% of excellence and another 90% of derivative nonsense trying to rip of the 10%'s sweet, sweet goodness. While it might not be scientifically correct or supportable, it has kept the options wide open. Do I like country? Yes. Hip-Hop? Yes? Classical? Hell, yes, assuming it's on the right side of the equation.
Who decides? I do - and this blog is me trying to articulate the reasoning of my heart, head, and soul. Sometimes it's lyrics, sometimes production or melody, and sometimes it's a sum that it greater than it's parts. Feel I missed a song? Well, I'm just getting started, and you can always start your own blog. That said, I'd love to hear you out about the things I include. Especially if I can figure out how to add links so that you can check them out for yourself.
